Description

An old idea I reworked during a weekend without Internet...

This is a DCnU title I'd love to see. What are four teen heroines with a lot in common do when they are benched into nonexistence, and their mentors are turned paramilitary rather than crime-fighting, or de-aged into non-mentorhood? They team up to fill the gaps!

From left to right:

a) Stephanie Brown, aka The Spoiler. I designed her outfit to sum up all her roles: The Spoiler, Robin, Batgirl and the aborted Smallville's Nightwing. She keeps her can-do, Pollyana-like, happy-go-lucky attitude.

c) Mia Dearden, aka Speedy. Her outfit never quite made sense to me, so I gave her full-red-unitard a segmentation and seams treatment, and added some nylon straps and snap-ons to actually hold her quiver, now made more easily accessible thanks to her short cloak being segmented into two.

d) Wendy Harris, aka Oracle. Last time she was seen in Bryan Q. Miller's Batgirl as the original Oracle's protegee, Proxy, she was still in a wheelchair and heading of to Nanda Parvat. She's now returned with better use of her legs and a more mature attitude, enough to take up the abandoned mantle of Oracle and gather the other three girls like her, other daughters of criminals or supervillains out to undo their parents' legacies.

e) Cassandra Cain, aka Black Bat. I changed almost nothing of her last costume as Black Bat, since I think it's pretty much perfect. I just replaced the domino mask with a black bandage (with black lenses). IMHO, something that made Cass-Batgirl very scary was the fact that you couldn't see her expression while fighting.

a) Stephanie Brown, alias Spoiler.

c) Mia Dearden, alias Speedy.

e) Cassandra Cain, alias Black Bat.
